Angelina Jolie’s Disapproval of Her Son’s Romantic Relationship Due to Fear of Losing Him
It appears that Angelina Jolie’s son, Pax, has entered the dating scene with an older partner, sparking some overprotective reactions from the star. Reports suggest Angelina Jolie is hovering over her 19-year-old son Pax’s relationship, probing his girlfriend, 20-year-old Carmen Blanchard, for her “true motives.”
Under the care of Jolie and her former spouse Brad Pitt, Pax is less than enthusiastic about his celebrity mother’s interference. A source confided to the National Enquirer that Pax has implored the actress to give him room to navigate his fresh romance independently. Jolie, as per the source, is intensely vetting Blanchard, from her educational background and personal beliefs to her family lineage, all in the name of confirming her suitability for Pax.
Even with Blanchard’s unblemished family background, the source mentions that Jolie’s approval eludes her son’s relationship due to a worry of him drifting away. “Pax has been clear with his mother about needing space for him and Carmen to breathe,” the informant specified. “The relationship is just blossoming, and Angelina already seems to be in a rush to see them down the aisle!”
The insider also shared that the 48-year-old superstar behaves protectively towards her offspring when new people enter their sphere, similar to a ‘mother bear with her cubs’. The fear of abandonment is real for Jolie as her children come of age; however, adapting to their growing independence is essential to preserve the bond she shares with them.
During her time on set in Paris, Jolie’s sons—including both Pax and his elder sibling Maddox, who is 22—came to support her as she worked on her latest film project. The critically acclaimed ‘Maria’, directed by Pablo Larraín, stars Jolie in the role of the iconic opera legend Maria Callas.
