Candace Cameron Bure Calls Sex ‘the Blessing of Marriage’ After Controversial Photo with Husband
Candace Cameron Bure wasn’t one to let a little boob-grab photo controversy get her down. In fact, after a few fans criticized the Instagram photo, in which her husband Valeri Bure grabbed her breast, the actress refused to apologize.
The Fuller House star opened up about the backlash she received on “Confessions of a Crappy Christian” podcast and went on to say that sex between a married couple should be celebrated.
After Boob-Grab Photo Controversy, Candace Cameron Bure Says Sex Is The Blessing of Marriage
Cameron said that the photo of the couple, which was taken after the couple had lunch with their newly-engaged son, was cute. “And I said, ‘Oh my gosh, this is so funny, can I please post this?’” she added.
Bure was surprised that some of her more conservative fans found the photo to be inappropriate.
“’Oh that’s so inappropriate that you posted that as a Christian. You should be more modest,’” she said of some of the comments. “I’ve been married for 24 years. I’m a Christian, my husband’s a Christian and I’m really proud that we’ve managed to stay married for 24 years. And the fact that we have fun and we flirt together, this is part of what makes our marriage work. This is something to be celebrated as a Christian.”
“Sex doesn’t stop once you get married,” she added. “Sex is the blessing of marriage and I hate when Christians are like, no, you have to pretend like you’ve never had sex, and we only know that you’ve had sex three times because you’ve had three children. If we are to promise ourselves for one another and preach saving yourself for marriage, then sex needs to be celebrated within marriage.”
“He can touch me any time he wants, and I hope he does,” Candace initially said in defense of the photo. “This is what a healthy, good marriage and relationship is all about.”
