Doctors amazed after mom gives birth to a 13lb baby

Anticipation was in the air as Chrissy and Larry Corbitt eagerly awaited the birth of their fifth child. They joyfully readied themselves for the new bundle of joy, yet something peculiar caught their attention. Chrissy’s significantly enlarged abdomen stood out from her former pregnancies, raising eyebrows and curiosity.

As delivery day arrived, Chrissy had a caesarean section, confirming the speculations— her baby was not just big, but extraordinarily so. The first glimpse Chrissy caught of her baby girl left her with astonishment. She humorously remarked to Inside Edition, “When they showed her to me over the curtain, I was in disbelief at her size. It was as if I was looking at a toddler, and I joked, wondering if she might just stroll over to the nursery herself.”

The Corbitts named their precious daughter Carleigh, and she was nothing short of a wonder. The healthcare team was equally stunned, having never encountered such a sizeable newborn in their practices. Initially estimated at 10 pounds within the womb, Carleigh vastly exceeded expectations at 13 pounds and five ounces as displayed on the scale.

Newborn-sized diapers and the lovingly chosen wardrobe were ill-fitting for baby Carleigh. Consequently, her parents found themselves purchasing attire suitable for a nine-month-old instead.
