“So Desperate To Look Young.” People Are Criticizing 56-Year-Old Nicole Kidman for Her Clothing, but She Has a Response
Nicole Kidman has always loved impressing the public with her outfits. Now, at the age of 56, she has no intention of giving up clothes that she enjoys. It’s not the first time she has encountered trolls claiming that a woman of her age should dress more modestly. But Nicole has a response for them.
At the recent New York premiere of Nicole Kidman’s latest mini-TV series, “Expats,” the star made a striking appearance. She wore a timeless black satin dress with a unique touch — it was both backless and sideless.
Crafted by Atelier Versace, the gown boasted a mint green lining, a thigh-high slit, and was complemented by sleek black stilettos. She also adorned herself with diamond earrings and bracelets.
Kidman’s choice of dress elicited a diverse range of opinions. The majority of people online praised her, with positive comments like “I love her, she looks amazing!!” and “I’m so in love with her 😍” However, not everyone was enamored with the look.

Many people online deemed that this daring dress wasn’t really age-appropriate for a woman in her fifties.
One person commented, “Elegant and classy… that’s an attractive combination. This dress screams desperation.” Another wrote, “It’s not really elegant or classy to look so desperate to look young. Grow old gracefully. She needs to stop trying so hard…”
However, the star is no stranger to such criticism, and she knows how to put trolls in their place. Recently, she appeared on the cover of Vanity Fair in a micro skirt and immediately faced a barrage of angry comments. Kidman explained that she’s the one who insisted on wearing that particular skirt, saying, ’’It was fun. I own it. I take responsibility. Nobody else chose it.’’
The low-rise skirt was harshly criticized online, after people deemed it was too short. However, the actress explains that she doesn’t pay much attention to these critics and prefers to ignore them. She noted, ’’Don’t tell me, I don’t really want to know. It will stop me doing what I want to do.’’
The Moulin Rouge star went on explaining that she chooses ’’to stay free’’ in the choices she makes, explaining that if you give too much importance to what others have to say, you become ’’just closed off, and you can’t step anywhere.’’
Unfortunately, celebrities often have to deal with a tremendous amount of hate. Recently, trolls began discussing the appearance of Pierce Brosnan’s wife without holding back in their expressions.
