The dog has been friends with the dolphin for almost 8 years. Look at their cute photos…
While it’s commonly said that a dog is man’s best friend, as it turns out, dogs are quite the social butterflies, capable of making friends outside their species. In a heartwarming revelation from Florida, Gunner the dog has struck up an unlikely friendship with a dolphin. Gunner’s human, Marie Blanton, expresses delight and astonishment at the bond they share.
Need proof? Just peruse their charming snapshots. The dolphin, known as Delta, resides at the Dolphin Research Center Seaside Sanctuary in Florida. Blanton, an employee at the sanctuary, frequently brings Gunner to the center, which paved the way for this special interspecies friendship.
When Blanton initially took Gunner to her workplace, she anticipated that he might be disruptive or bark at the animals, but the reality was a heartwarming surprise.
Blanton observed Gunner remaining at the water’s edge as though eagerly anticipating a companion. Before long, Delta approached, interacted, and even brought over water toys to play with Gunner.
Eight years have flown by, and the bond between Gunner and Delta continues to grow stronger with each passing day. The two share moments so endearing they could melt even the coldest of hearts.
Their demonstrations of friendship and affection sometimes even include exchanging gentle pecks, resembling kisses.
The extraordinary story of Gunner and Delta caught the Internet’s imagination after being shared by user @_woollyback on Twitter, amassing over 1.2 million likes and in excess of 250,000 retweets.
