This dog was buried alive, but she was able to survive and start a new life
An astonishing case emerged where a resilient German Shepherd narrowly escaped the clutches of death after being administered a supposed fatal injection, only to claw her way back to life.
The appalling ordeal began when seven-year-old Kira faced the unthinkable; her own owners injected her with what should have been a life-ending substance in her limb and hastily interred her near a roadway, disregarding the dog’s faint but present vital signs.
Miraculously, Kira defied her grim fate, burrowed out of her premature resting place, and staggered to a nearby thoroughfare. It was there that 39-year-old commuter and animal advocate Olga spotted the beleaguered canine. Olga’s compassion wouldn’t allow her to ignore Kira’s plight.
Turning her vehicle around, Olga scooped up the weary and waterlogged dog off the roadside. She provided nourishment for Kira and transported her to the “Good City” animal rehabilitation sanctuary, a full 150 kilometers from where their paths crossed.
Utilizing the power of social media, volunteers were able to pinpoint Kira’s previous custodians and engaged in dialogue with them. Animal defenders learned that her past owners deemed Kira gravely ill, prompting their decision to end her life using the injection they had administered.
After being examined by a veterinarian, Kira was given a clean bill of health, casting doubt on her previous owners’ motives. Fortunately for Kira, her tale has taken a turn for the better; she is now settled with a compassionate new family who provides her with all the care she deserves.
Olga’s timely intervention and the German Shepherd’s unwavering will to live have paved the way for her brighter days ahead. “Olga’s kindness has opened the door to a fresh chapter in Kira’s life,” acknowledged the “Good City” director.
